CINEL Strumenti Scientifici s.r.l. is an engineering and manufacturing company mainly devoted to the production and turnkey solutions of scientific equipment for the synchrotron light and particle accelerator research. We design, produce, assemble and install monochromators, fully integrated front-ends and complete beamlines, accelerating cavities and diagnostic devices. CINEL has also got a significant experience of collaborations in the fields of cryogenics, superconductivity, astrophysics and bio-mechanics acting as a qualified partner for the mechanical, thermal and control system design.

FMB is recognized as a leading supplier of instrumentation equipment to the scientific community.  With more than 20 years of experience in the global synchrotron industry and operating over 2 sites – in Berlin and in Oxford – We have built a product range extending from storage ring vacuum systems to complete turnkey beamlines including all controls with an installed base exceeding $200M.  Our core competencies are the project management, design, build, test, installation and commissioning of synchrotron instrumentation.  In Berlin the focus is on vacuum systems, front ends and soft x-ray beamlines, with special emphasis on plane grating monochromators.  In Oxford the area of expertise is primarily hard x-ray beamline systems and components, with an extensive installed base of DCMs and cryocoolers.  FMB also markets a wide range of custom detectors and diagnostics to complement our beamline offerings.

Huber Diffraction is a manufacturer of precise positioning and diffraction equipment for laboratory and synchrotron applications. We present a new beam conditioning unit for protein crystallography as well as our known precision motion systems.

SmarAct develops, produces and distributes piezo-based micro- and nanopositioners, advanced control systems and micro-tools. In addition, SmarAct offers complete miniaturised micro- and nanomanipulation systems as well as a professional service. The compact positioning systems combine sub-nm resolution with a high straightness and cm-sized travels. They can be applied in normal pressure as well as in vacuum conditions. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your application with you and to find the right positioning solution.

Science and Technology Facilities Council
The Science and Technology Facilities Council helps to ensure the UK retains its leading place on the world stage by delivering world-class science; accessing and hosting international facilities; developing innovative technologies; and increasing the socio-economic impact of its research through effective knowledge exchange partnerships.

The Council has a broad science portfolio including Astronomy, Particle Physics, Particle Astrophysics, Nuclear Physics, Space Science, Synchrotron Radiation, Neutron Sources and High Power Lasers. In addition the Council manages and operates three internationally renowned laboratories:

     - The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxfordshire
     - The Daresbury Laboratory, Cheshire
                  - The UK Astronomy Technology Centre, Edinburgh
The Council gives researchers access to world-class facilities and funds the UK membership of international bodies such as the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN), the Institute Laue Langevin (ILL), European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF), the European organisation for Astronomical Research in the Southern Hemisphere (ESO) and the European Space Agency (ESA). It also contributes money for the UK telescopes overseas on La Palma, Hawaii, and in Chile, and the MERLIN/VLBI National Facility, which includes the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory. STFC is also the major stakeholder in the Diamond Light Source.
